Hope Isabelle Colasin, in the CU-Boulder Armory foyer, wants to change her major to advertising after working at the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates in her home state of California.

Colasin currently lives in Boulder, and her ideal job would be to own a winery, design wine labels, and showcase art in her winery.

  1. Overall, great job creating a brief portrait!

Hope seems like an interesting undergrad with unique aspirations, but I do think you could do some work to make your composition a bit more compelling in the future. A close-in headshot with a stone background, the subject staring straight back at the camera, doesn’t attest visually to the character of the person you’re featuring. Perhaps you could consider trying to frame the shot with a more interesting background, or try to capture Hope in an impromptu moment that captures her personality and spirit.

The photograph is flattering and simple, but should communicate more about Hope’s character if it is to be part of a journalistic package.

This is a great start to the class, and I’m looking forward to see more of what you produce in the future.
